India goes with me on most of my photo shoots, mainly because the shoots also serve as her walks. She has become accustomed to me stopping to photograph flowers and objects that people have dropped around the neighborhood, which I call Dharma Bums, after my favorite writer, Jack Kerouac.

Anyway, India sometimes shows me flowers that she finds. She has also, finally, realized that something about the camera is important. So, for this photo, when I pointed the camera at her, she stayed perfectly still and smiled.
